Angry Birds has been around since 2009. The game was invented by Rovio Mobile.
The game initially began with the episode (version) “Poached Eggs” being released in December of 2009. It had 3 chapters each with 21 levels of competition.
In February 2010, “Mighty Hoax” episode was released with 2 chapters and 21 levels of competition. Also, Golden Eggs added some bonus content.
In April of 2010, the third episode of the game was released called “Danger Above“. It had 3 chapters with 15 levels of competition. A fourth episode of the game was released in June called “The Big Set-up“. This episode had 1 chapter with 15 levels. Later two additional chapters were added.
Then, in December of 2010, one year after being released to the public, the creators released a fifth episode called “Hang Em High” with 2 chapters and 15 levels. Also released were themed levels for the Wild West in a single chapter. This episode introduced the “Mighty Eagle” in which it had special powers in destroying the pigs. There are now other themed levels for the seasonal holidays with more to come.
Last of all, in June 2011, a sixth episode was released called “Mind & Dine” with two chapters and 15 levels each.
The Goal of the Game
The main goal of the game is to destroy the pigs who stole the Angry Birds eggs. To accomplish this, you must place an Angry Bird into the sling shot and aim and shoot the Angry Bird using the sling shot at the target where the pigs are hiding.
As you destroy the pigs you accumulate points. When you destroy all the pigs on the first level, you advance to the next level. You continue in each level until you complete a chapter. Each time you advance up through the levels, the game becomes more and more difficult because the pigs become harder and harder to destroy. As you go through each of these levels you will develop your visual perception and motor skills.
Background of the Game
The game Angry Birds was created in 2009 and released in December to the public as a puzzle video game. The reason why the pigs were selected as the enemy of the Angry Birds was because at the time the game was being developed, swine flu was in the news. So, the creators of Angry Birds used pigs as the enemy of the Birds.
The game took off and sold over 12 million copies from Apples App Store in 2010. For the computer, there have been over 500 million downloads of the game for all platforms and this number continues to grow.
Let’s see what the future has for Angry Birds.
